January & February is hard for many people. Those grey days can bring you down and it can sometimes feel like the bad stuff life throws at you happens exclusively during this time of year. Despite all this, we’re always hearing about how important it is to maintain a positive attitude, even when it’s hard to do so. The question becomes how to maintain a positive attitude, even when the world feels like it’s falling down around you.
First of all… Why is a positive attitude SO important? We hear about it all the time, with people telling us to “Be More Positive”, but what is it about that optimistic attitude that is actually beneficial to us? Well, the obvious one is that being more positive feels better. When you’re feeling positive, the world around us seems to be a whole lot easier to manage and we feel like we can take on anything. But, interestingly enough, it doesn’t stop there:
This month I visited Little Himalaya in Kenilworth, Warwickshire after I had noticed by chance their advert in the local newspaper.
Little Himalaya is an alternative health centre which opened in November 2016 which aims to provide salt therapy to those with respiratory conditions such as Asthma, Bronchitis, COPD, Emphysema etc.
Salt therapy is also known as halotherapy.
Halotherapy is the use of inhaled salt in minute quantities as a natural therapy for respiratory ailments. It has long been known that salt exhibits strong anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
It started off as a perfect day. I was on holiday with Bill (my hubby) in North Devon and the weather especially for late September was amazing. We had been walking around the Valley of the rocks admiring the scenery and dramatic coast line and then we enjoyed a full English breakfast in the café. We had planned to explore Woody Bay to find the natural tidal pool we had read about through the wild swimming website. From an early age our parents teach us to say “Thank you”, but having an attitude of gratitude is more than just saying “Thank you”.

Last week I went swimming in North Wales. It was my first wild swim of the year and it felt amazing. Just walking barefoot on the sand felt very healing but when I entered the water, all the stresses and strains of everyday life just drained away.
Swimming in the sea for me is like a spiritual experience. There is no electro magnetic, mobile phone or wifi pollution to interfere with the natural energy of the ocean and it feels invigorating and wonderfully connecting. The sound of the waves and the feeling of the salt water on my skin is cleansing, balancing and uplifting. It’s the best feeling in the world. Continue reading →
The adult human body is around 60% water, with the brain being 75% water and the lungs nearly 90%. The blood is made up of a large percentage of watery serum. The lymph fluids which transport waste and nutrients around are made from the water we consume and every cell in our body owes its life to an adequate supply of fresh water.
